Get To Know Thérèse

Thérèse began her counseling career working at a day treatment program as a primary therapist for people diagnosed with eating disorders and PTSD. That was where she developed her passion for working with individuals with eating disorders.

There, Thérèse provided eating disorder specialized care as well as trauma-informed care, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), for people with PTSD diagnoses. Thérèse is now the assistant clinical director of this program, supporting both clients in their recovery journey and therapists in their clinical development.

Thérèse strongly believes that the relationship between the clinician and client is the most important tool for change in the healing process. As such, she takes a person-centered, paced approach to therapy that attempts to first and foremost understand the client in their entirety. That includes understanding the environment, both immediate and societal, that has helped shape them.

As someone who specializes in trauma and PTSD, Thérèse always aims to ensure her work is trauma-sensitive and informed. She makes sure her clients feel empowered with choice throughout every stage of the therapeutic process. Thérèse creates an environment that is warm, non-judgmental, and empathetic, so that her clients can feel safe in sharing their story.  That is how she is able to instil insight and create meaningful change.
