LEARN HOW TO START YOUR DAY IN A POSITIVE WAY!

Morning routines are something we unconsciously do but often do not have the time to perfect or be intentional with. We are far too busy with our families and rushing to work that we forget how to care for ourselves in our daily activities. Benefits of morning routines are not just psychological but also great for our bodies as well. According to numerous studies, there are multiple benefits to having a morning routine including decreased stress and anxiety levels, increased mental clarity, more energy, improved sleep quality and more emotional stability.

Important components to a morning routine include intentionally activating your mind and body to aid in health benefits, such as stress reduction or increased mental clarity. Activities for a morning routine can include exercise, listening to audiobooks, journaling, meditation or prayer (connection to a higher source), reading or planning for the day. Important to note, that connecting to a higher source does not have to be religious. It can be as simple as taking a 15-minute walk in your neighborhood or watering your plants to connect with nature. It is thought that the ideal length of a morning routine is 30 to 90 minutes, but it is important that you select a time that’s best for you. The goal is for your morning routine to become effortless and beneficial for you; not another thing to check off your to do list.

A wonderful book on routines is “5 things Successful People do before 8am”. Author Terri Savelle Foy states, “The secret of your success is hidden in your daily routine.” Whether success  is your goal or you're just looking to enhance your general wellness, morning routines are a great start to practicing self-care.
