Get To Know Sam

I began my career journey by earning a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice and Psychology at the University of Scranton. I have always been passionate about how societal constructs and pressures impact individuals and how we can work together to empower one another to spread positivity. During undergrad, I had the opportunity to intern for the Pennsylvania State Probation and Parole specialized caseload unit. It was there that I was introduced to counseling. Finding a passion for this field, I went on to earn my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Fairleigh Dickinson University. During this time, I was afforded the opportunity to provide individual and group counseling to young adults on the Autism Spectrum and youth and adults from inner city communities. Throughout the course of my graduate career, I worked as a case manager for an adult partial care program, facilitating group therapy for individuals with severe and persistent mental health diagnoses such as Major Depressive Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia etc. Upon graduating, I became a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). At the current time, I am working towards becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). In addition to her work at Reimagined Mind Counseling & Consultation, I have worked as an intensive in home clinician with youth and families to assist in stabilizing mental health crises.

When I am not working, I deeply enjoy spending time with my family, friends and 2 dogs Olive and Bear. My hobbies include playing soccer, watching my favorite professional soccer team games  (Orlando Pride and USWNT!), running, baking and painting. I can often be found outside being active with a soccer ball at my feet, walking Olive and Bear or reading a book at a park.

When interacting with clients, it is of utmost importance to me that I honor each individual’s uniqueness and diversity. Clinically, I operate from a person-centered approach while incorporating different counseling modalities that best fits the needs of her clients. It is my belief that growth can flourish in a supportive, empathetic, nonjudgmental space, which is crucial for a client's path to wellness. I feel humbled and honored to work with clients daily and to be a part of their journey.
