Get To Know Sam
I began my counseling career working as a primary therapist at a day treatment program for adolescents and adults diagnosed with eating disorders and PTSD. that was where I developed a passion working with individuals with eating disorders I began work as a primary therapist at a day treatment program for adolescents and adults diagnosed with eating disorders and PTSD. There, I provide eating
disorder specialized care as well as trauma-informed care, including Cognitive Processing
Therapy (CPT) for people with PTSD diagnoses. I am now the assistant clinical director at this
program, supporting both clients in their recovery journey and therapists in their clinical
development.
I believe strongly that the relationship between the clinician and client itself is the most
important tool for change in the healing process. As such, I take a person-centered, paced
approach to therapy that attempts to first and foremost understand the client in their entirety
– including the environments, immediate and societal, that helped shape them. As someone
who specializes in trauma and PTSD, I always aim to ensure my work is trauma-sensitive and
informed and that my clients feel empowered with choice throughout every stage of the
therapeutic process.
Asking for help and sharing your story is a vulnerable and sometimes scary prospect. I hope to
create an environment that is warm, nonjudgmental, and understanding enough for you to feel
safe while also challenging enough to instill insight and create meaningful change.
