Get To Know Amanda
I graduated from Caldwell University with a dual Masters of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an Art Therapy Specialization. Early in my career, I interned for Newbridge Jobs Plus, assisting adolescents who needed to pursue alternative routes to high school. I partnered with the students helping them to cultivate their strengths and overcome challenges with emotions. This role also allowed me to work with the adolescents to provide vital education on life skills and employment skills.
After my experience with Newbridge, I was employed at High Focus Centers PHP/IOP. While here, I provided individual and group psychotherapy sessions for clients struggling with mental health challenges, substance use and co-occurring diagnoses. At the present time, I am continuing my professional career with Reimagined Mind Counseling & Consultation to provide outpatient care for adolescents and adults struggling with mental health challenges as a result of trauma or other difficult life circumstances.
When working with clients, I implement a holistic approach, aiming to care for and support a client’s mind and body. I specialize in the integration of counseling and art therapy techniques. I understand the discomfort mental health struggles can bring forward, and my goal is to continually create a safe, comforting space for clients to express their emotions, thoughts, and feelings through talk therapy and the option of art therapy modalities. It is my hope that while working together, my clients feel safety, comfort, and support while exploring the uncomfortable. Art therapy encourages individuals to grow and gain awareness through safe exploration and accessing feelings through the process of art making. No previous art making experience is required to use art therapy for expression.
I understand that reaching out for help can be challenging and scary. I am here to support you, and guide you in creating the life you aspire to have.
